Installer Windows 7 Medion Akoya E1210 there. I'm not looking for 'Oh, it looks much much better', some fraps benchmarks before and after would be nice. Search for this.
Several benchmarks have been posted in this forum. To recap them all, some people are getting 2fps better, some people are getting 2 fps lower, and 1 guy is reporting he went from 14fps to 30 or something ridiculous. 2 things about fraps benchmarks is, you can never be 100% sure the results you see are going to be like yours, especially with a beta. Fraps fps reporting doesn't really tell you how the game actually plays. For me and a few others, we have VERY smooth fps except for the fact that if you press a key on the keyboard.
ANY key, and the video will pause VERY breifly every time you press a button. That's just the nature of the beast. We are dealing with a beta. I CAN say though, if GTA IV worked like everyone else is reporting it to work, and I didn't have this stupid bug, I would have no reason to ever go back to Vista. QUOTE I did everything that I could, I did finally a clean install of GTA IV on win 7 without any errors at all, but I still can't lunch the game, I just got an empty black screen that closed after 5-10 sec. Once you load the game directly from the folder just google your error codes and the answer should show up. Or post them in the thread.

You also took the liberty of searching on Google, MSN, or Yahoo to see if there's any other tutorials out there.
You just tried to flame me and make a fool out of me and make everyone gang up on me. That won't work, I don't know why people do this. I have been trying to get GTA IV to work on this PC, but every time I try I get this error: SecuLauncher failed to start application. [2000] I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't install framework 2.0, but this computer has 3.5 from the original installation. Besides 2.0 is almost impossible to install due to privilege issues. I had GTAIV installed on 7 before, I just forgot how I got around this.
Anyone ever had this error? If so, how did you fix it?
*I had tried the Securom no-cd crack already. **copied from locked thread =(. I can honestly say that I am glad I didnt read this thread BEFORE I installed GTA4 on my fresh Win 7 (build 7048) x64 system! It probably would have scared the pants off me! What i did, was to stick the DVD in the drive.and click 'Install'.
When this (obviously!) didnt work, I browsed through to the app on the DVD, set it to Vista x64 compatibility, and then everything installed with no probs, and the game ran fine straight after with no mucking about. One thing I will add, is that I have UAC turned OFF.dunno if that makes a difference!
