Needed it to open an XLS file from dropbox. Excel took forever to set up, doing who knows what with who knows whom. When done, it still had me flipping back and forth 3 times between dropbox and excel having to ask Excel 3 times to actually open the file.
(Should be reproducible). When it was ready to open the file, it turns out Excel cannot open XLS files. Imagine that. Apparently had to ship it somewhere for online conversion (to xlsx I assume). All in all a big Nay from me. All the time I had this nagging, growing feeling that this is something Microsoft misinterpreted that they could get away with during the time of their Monopoly in the 90s and 2000s.
Please make better software. Surprising that Microsoft would release this for free as well as it works for reading, creating, and editing xlsx files. Niggling problem: even in cells I've defined as 'number,' it keeps switching back to an 'alpha' keyboard; even if I select a 'number keypad' style. And I've tried multiple soft keyboards (LG, Google, SwiftKey).
Update: fixes the keypad issue by using its own keypad. Tho' it's getting annoying that I have to sign into MS' online doc service even when editing a doc on the device. Well, you can edit 'offline' for a time, but have often run into the limit, attempted to sign on, gotten the puzzling 'We've encountered an error,' then it refuses to continue.
If I get that too many more times, I may try switching to AndrOpen Office. Roberto Fonseca Temperamento Rarest.
Generally, a download manager enables downloading of large files or multiples files in one session. Many web browsers, such as Internet Explorer 9, include a download manager. Stand-alone download managers also are available, including the Microsoft Download Manager. If you do not have a download manager installed, and still want to download the file(s) you've chosen, please note: • You may not be able to download multiple files at the same time. In this case, you will have to download the files individually. (You would have the opportunity to download individual files on the 'Thank you for downloading' page after completing your download.) • Files larger than 1 GB may take much longer to download and might not download correctly.
• You might not be able to pause the active downloads or resume downloads that have failed. The Microsoft Download Manager solves these potential problems.
It gives you the ability to download multiple files at one time and download large files quickly and reliably. It also allows you to suspend active downloads and resume downloads that have failed.
