When trying to connect to a lobby more often then not I am greeted with 'A network error has occurred' This can be rather frustrating. Other then that there is hardly anything wrong with the game it has everything you would expect from a polished title: 60FPS Stable, Smooth graphics and vibrant colors, A lot of maps and modes to keep you busy for quite a while. I can happily say that this game is a must buy.

A no-brainer really, For any Switch owner.

In order to understand how you get a Triple Star Rank, first, you must understand the rating system in this game. In Mario Kart Super Circuit, it was determined strictly on race time, total coins, and total points. Coins were used to tally up the amount of times you got hit, the less coins you have, the less strict the rating system is on your race time.

The points determine your rank in exactly the same way in every Mario Kart Game that gives you a ranking. You will have a better ranking if you have more points, and if the 2nd and 3rd place persons have less points than usual. As for race time, it's pretty self explanatory, faster time = better rank. In Mario Kart DS, it became more complicated, as coins were taken out of the series, so it's ranking system determined ranks strictly on average lap time and points.

Instead of using your race time to determine ranks, the game uses the average of all of your lap times in a race, then adds them together to make a final average racing time. The faster your average racing time, the better your ranking. Point System was kept the same in that game. The rules were exactly the same in Mario Kart Double Dash. However, in Mario Kart Wii, there were many changes. Many tricks, wheelies, drifting type, character value, items, etc. The ranking system had to be changed for the game to match the others with the new stuff that was added.

So things get complicated. Too many things could change your abilities to do well in a race by a lot. So this is how the ranking system works in this game. The average of your average lap time and total race time is used for your time ratings. Your% accuracy with items is used for your accuracy ratings. The amount of times you slow down / speed up is counted and stands as a neutral point. Bigger number, less strict, smaller number, more strict.

The more tricks you use, the more strict the Rating System is. Points determine your ratings exactly the same as all other games. So all in all, Mario Kart Wii really only uses Points, Item Accuracy, Time, and Skill to determine your rank. The rank is determined by doing things, it's determined on how well you do in certain circumstances. Pretty much, playing it regularly gives you the best rank you can possibly get. But if you ask me, I hate the new rating system, because it's so complicated, that I always feel like something could easily go wrong. Oh yeah, A little added info.

If you aim to get Triple Star Rank on everything, get Single Star Rank on every engine class (50cc, 100cc, 150cc, MIRROR) and then get Double Star Rank after you do that on ALL of them, and then try for Triple Star Rank. You probably already know the Ratings but I'm going to do it anyway. E, D, C, B, A, Single Star, Double Star, Triple Star, Shiny Triple Star.

* The shiny triple star rank was removed but the the rating system still keeps record of Shiny Triple Star in it's rating system, that particular rank cannot be seen without hacking into the game. My friend told me this and showed me proof by hacking into the game to show me the numbers the game keeps. The ratings tally up into solid numbers which determine your rank.

But the game apparently has extra number digits that are coded as letters. I don't know what digits represent what number, but at any rate, here is the solid rank order.

000t - Game Freezes 0010 + E Rank 00h0 + D Rank 02a0 + C Rank 0520 + B Rank 08d0 + A Rank 10t0 + 1 Star 20k0 + 2 Star 30h0 + 3 Star 5000 + 3 Shiny Star Of course, my friend told me and showed me this but if there are any hackers out there, and I don't mean play hackers I mean REAL hackers, feel free to check it out, maybe you can check it out and prove it for me. But, I listened to what my friend told me, and I got Triple Star Ranks on everything now, so yeah, good luck to you and anyone reading this. For getting three stars, there are two rules that Gravtac(a YouTube user) mentions in his video (he states that these are real facts) that is: get 60 points overall in the 4 races, and beat the course maximum time.

If you impose any bonuses or penalties, then you will have to beat the adjusted maximum time. Do that for all 4 races, and you'll be guaranteed the triple star rank. Although, sometimes, even if you get first in every race, you might only get two stars! So the most important thing is to beat all course maximum (or adjusted maximum) times!

Just a note to those who are trying to get two stars( not three stars), you follow the same procedure. However, there would be a few changes. If you did beat all course max times BUT DID NOT get 60 points, then that's a guaranteed two star rank(as long as you get either 57 or 55 overall points). Or If you got 60 overall points, but did not beat one the course maximum times, then that will also guaranteed a two star rank.

I know this because I have tested this out a few times. PS: I'm currently a two star going for my three star:-). To get triple star, I recommend using a well rounded vehicle, such as the Super Blooper or Offroader.

If you use Funky Kong with the Offroader, it will be faster than Standard Kart L on other racers. Also, you MUST get a full 60 points, and exceed course times. I've also found that playing in single player VS helps me get my moves down, so do that.

You also should enjoy the game, and the more you play, the better you get. Just don't use Toad on the Magikruser, a phase I went through.

I stopped using it, as it was slow. Please do not use this box to ask a question, it will be rejected - this box is for answers ONLY.
