How on earth would that be quicker? You would have to hash some passwords yourself, which could take a very long time depending on your hardware. It just seems tenfold more logical to download somebody else's rainbow tables, as detailed above: Depends on hash type, but I downloaded good stuff from and guys at first site use their own format which saves space but is more CPU 'expensive'.
